Our Chuseok Bike Ride

I suppose last year's Chuseok would be hard to beat, considering we took a luxurious vacation, but this year comes in a close second with three days off school and a lovely trip outside of the city today.  Each year we get a little vacation to celebrate Korean Thanksgiving.  In the past, I've gone to Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam, but this year we were more than content to stay here.

We considered camping, but of course put off planning until the very last minute so last night we decided to go on a bike ride instead.  Koreans love biking, and whenever are along the river we see so many bikers.  You can rent bikes and ride, and we've always wanted to do this...so decided today was the day!

As I was doing a little research online, I found that we could take an hour-long subway journey and end up at Paldang Station, where we could hop off, rent bikes for the day, and pedal along the Han River out in the country (about 40km from where we live).

It was a perfect day and great to get out and see some scenery.  We love exploring more of this beautiful country! We biked about 15 miles and I'm hurting, but now we're talking about getting bikes.  Sounds like a plan to me!

This weekend was one of the last before summer will give way to fall, the leaves will turn, and we will hopefully have more photos and adventures to share with you!  Enjoy!
